If you’re anything like me, the start of the colder months feels just as magical as waking up on Christmas morning.

You know the feeling. That tingle of excitement in your stomach, that rush of happiness. It’s here! It’s finally here!

Autumn has arrived, and not a moment too soon. The leaves are turning orange and gold, stores are stocking cosy sweaters and chunky boots, and pumpkins are appearing in all the local supermarkets. I couldn’t be happier.

I like to think of myself as a bit of an expert when it comes to curating the perfect autumn Pinterest board. My pinning game is on point, as the kids would say. Do they still say that?

Anyway. Over the years I’ve managed to amass a huge collection of autumnal vegan recipes, and I thought it might be helpful to share a few of my favourites. Some of these I haven’t made yet (but can’t wait to!) and others are tried-and-tested classics.

I swear by Linda McCartney sausages – they come in a range of different flavours (rosemary and red onion are my favourite!) and honestly, taste way better than their meaty counterparts.

I can’t wait to sit down to this on a rainy night!

I remember the night I fell in love with this dish. It was during my first trip to Japan in October 2015, and everything was pumpkin-flavored. Even the ice-cream!

We visited an Italian restaurant named Capricciosa one night, and I ordered the pumpkin pasta. From the first bite, I was hooked. Since then I’ve craved it constantly, so I think it’s about time I made my own.

After scouring Pinterest I discovered V Nutrition‘s recipe, which sounds almost identical to the flavours of the Capricciosa dish. Now that pumpkins have hit the stores, I’ll be trying this out. Wish me luck!

This dish by Full of Plants has been on my ‘must-try’ list for the longest time. I cook with jackfruit fairly often, but usually stick to marinading it in BBQ sauce and serving on top of soft tacos.

Wontons are a little outside my comfort zone, but I’m willing to give it a try. From the photos alone, who could resist?

Warming chilli and ginger paired with butternut squash give this hearty soup a rich, spicy flavour. Perfect for those chilly October nights!

Sure, you could buy them pre-made. But vegan sausage rolls taste so much better when you make them yourself.

That’s where the lovely folks at Great British Chefs come in. This recipe is simple and delicious, and always yields perfectly moist and flaky rolls.

Personally, I always leave out the cashews and oats. I didn’t have them on hand the first time I tried this recipe, and I fell so completely in love with the taste and texture that I didn’t want to change a thing. Serve with buttery mashed potatoes and peas, and you’ve got yourself the cosiest autumn meal!
